Word of the Week…en Français

égoportrait   n. m. /eɡo-pɔʀtʀɛ/

The term recently designated by the Office québécois de la langue française for the neologism “selfie.” The selfie is a photo of oneself taken with a ‘smart phone’ usually at arm’s length, and which is published on social media.

Le mot récemment désigné par l’Office québécois de la langue française pour le néologisme “selfie.” C’est une photo de soi-même que l’on prend avec un téléphone intelligent, généralement à bout de bras, et que l’on publie sur les médias sociaux.
