In appreciation of the diversity of programming around French Canadian culture in Detroit and in support of efforts to build French language learning opportunities in the region, we are happy to share the following announcement from our confrere Kevin Lucey and the Alliance Française de Détroit, Alliance Française French Institute of Michigan, and Encore Détroit.
Reservations can now be made for the upcoming lecture “Joseph Campau – Detroit’s First Real Estate Mogul” by Dr. Guillaume Teasdale to take place on Saturday, June 14 at 5:00pm at the Traffic Jam and Snug restaurant in Midtown, Detroit! Dr. Teasdale is the expert on early Detroit and the Detroit River region history and the author of the recently published book, “French and Indians in the Heart of North America, 1630 – 1815.” This will be a great event to get together to learn more about Detroit’s early history and about one of its famous movers and shakers!
Seats available are limited to 75, so consider making your reservation as soon as possible. To reserve seats, please mail a check payable to the Alliance Française of Détroit to 30316 Stellamar, Beverly Hills, MI 48025. Admission to the lecture is $10 per person. Included with your check, please include notice of the name you would like the reservation to be under (if different than the name(s) on the check itself) and a contact phone number in case of any question or issue. Thank you for supporting the efforts and programs of the Alliance Française de Détroit, Alliance Française French Institute of Michigan, and Encore Détroit.
